Balochistan
Balochistan is one of the five province of Pakistan located southwestern side of Pakistan. The Balochistan nationalist struggle established around 1660's by Mir Ahmad who accepted Afghan paramountcy. However 1839 British attacked Balochistan (kalat) and killed khan and his followers. Later on, British influence gradually grew in the region. In 20th century, middle class educated Baloch formed a nationalist movement named as Anjjumane Ittehade Baloch for the hope of independent Balochistan free from British.
History
Balochistan (Geographical wise) is the Largest Province of Pakistan. Quetta is the biggest and capital city of Balochistan. Balochistan is situated at the eastern edge side of Iranian Plateau and it is hard to characterize border region among the southwest, central and Southasia. Biggest land wise province of Pakistan but populace density is very low because of the mountainous terrain and shortage of water. The Makran is known as southern region and Kalat known as center region of the province. The Sulaiman Mountains overwhelm northeast corner and Bolan Pass natural route to Afghanistan towards Kandahar. Pakistan government with help of Chinese government build a large and important sea port in Gwadar and its reduce the Pakistan's reliance on port Qasim and Karachi. Almost 26 districts in the province of Balochistan.
Geography
Urdu is countrywide language of Pakistan but "Balochi" is a nearby or provincial language of Balochistan. There are also many other regional languages used in this province, like Pashto, Sindhi and Brahui. 13.16 million population in Balochistan according to 2012 statistic, which is approximately 17% of total population of Pakistan. Balochistan's latitude and longitude is 30.1200° N, 67.0100° E with area of 347,190 sq-km. Development in the province has been very slow. By the end of November as winter season begins and almost ends at the end of March. The economy of the province is essentially primarily based upon the production of herbal gasoline, coal and minerals. Since Pakistan became independent, the education system is very poor in Balochistan. Every elected federal and provincial government has not focused on this issue. In 1935 a very dangerous earthquake took the lives of more than thirty thousand people in the Quetta City and the surrounding areas.
