Lahore Fort famous as Shahi Qila by the locals, situated northwest corner of Lahore City famous as city of gardens, in famous Iqbal Park which is the largest urban park in Lahore. It's not possible that tourists will come to Lahore City and forgot to visit the lovely, amazing and beautiful Lahore Fort. The Lahore Fort was listed in world heritages sites year of 1981 by UNESCO. Fort location has one of the beautiful places in Pakistan.

History

Lahore Fort history is not clear, history based on different myths and no one knows that who built this fort first. But according to some old famous hindu myths that the founder of Lahore Fort was Loh who was the son of Lord Rama. However, first historical reference goes back to 11 century and that was the time of ruler Muhammad Ghazni. Demolished, built, damaged, rebuilt and restored many time before this actual condition. The present building or condition was reformed by great Akbar ruler in 1566 (when Lahore became capital announced by ruler). The fort was again modified in 1618 by Jahangir but later on building was damaged by Sikh and British rules in different attacks. One more wonderful gate was added in 1674 by the instruction of the current ruler Aurangzeb Alamgir and the gate was named "Alamgiri Gate". Before and after Pak-indo separation, every government has take care of this fort.

Building Areas

There are different beautiful sites in Lahore Fort that shows the hard work and interest of ancient architecture.

Sheesh Mahal

The beautiful Sheesh Mahal (palace of mirror) was constructed in 1631-1632 by the instruction of Empeoror Shah Jahan in supervision of Asif Khan. Sheesh Mahal hall is one of the most beautiful, charming and attractive hall in the fort.

Khwabgah (sleeping chamber)

Khwabgah was built in 1633 by the order of Shah Jahan Emperor. Khwabgah was built in the supervision of Wazir Khan (Wazir Khan was the found or Wazir Khan Mosque).

Diwan-e-Aam (public hall audience)

Shah Jahan order after fourteenth year (in 1642) of his rule to construct a hall for the public (hall has forty pillars) in under supervision of Asif Khan. Diwan-e-Aam hall was collapsed due to bombarding by Sher Singh (against fighting with Chand Kour). This specific part of building was repaired after a long time.

Moti Masjid (moti mosque)

The amazing building of Moti Masjid (moti mosque) was build in the 17th century by the order of great Shah Jahan Ruler. Moti Masjid was constructed with white marble and this white marble had to brought from makrana. This is small masjid (mosque) has three domes. During Sikh rule this masjid was converted (forcibly) into sikh temple which later on called as Moti Mandir.

There are many lot of other places in Lahore Fort like Sikh buildings, Jahangir's Quandrangle, Hathi Paer (elephant stairs), Naulakha Pavilion, Akbari Gate and Masti Gate, Paien Bagh (ladies garden), Khilwat Khana, Makateeb Khana, Lal Burj and Kala Burj (watch towers), Hammam-e-Shahi (royal bath), galleries and etc.

Location

The Lahore Fort is situated northwest corner of wall city of Lahore, Iqbal Park. Iqbal Park is the largest urban park in Lahore. Minar-e-Pakistan, Badshahi Masjid, Food Street and many other famous places can be seen around the Lahore Fort. Minar-e-Pakistan is very historical place for Pak-Indo Muslims. Minar-e-Pakistan is that place where Pakistan Resolution passed on 23march 1940. This is also one of the famous monument in Pakistan. The famous minaret was design by Naseer-ud-Din Khan (design combination of modern and mughal's architecture). Badshahi Masjid (mosque) constructed between 1671-1673, in Lahore by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. This is largest masjid (mosque) in Pakistan and the 5th largest masjid (mosque) in the world from 1673 to many years. Shahi Qila (Lahore Fort) Food Street was inaugurated, January 2012. It is little expensive compared to Gawalmandi Food Street. The Lahore Fort has one of the beautiful places in Pakistan.

Kaghan Valley

Allah (SWT) has given so many beautiful valleys in Pakistan and these valleys are the reminiscent of paradise. Kaghan Valley is scenic wonderland and one of these beautiful valleys. The Kaghan Valley spread over the estimated two hundred kilometers of land. Its starts from Mansehra (mansehra district) to Babusar Top via Kaghan Road in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. Balakot City considered as the gateway of Kaghan Valley and Babusar Top is certainly end of this valley. Kaghan Valley consist of minimum elevation of 2130 feet to maximum elevation 13700 feet. A large number of hotels are available in Kaghan and Naran City. These hotels various ranges from high luxury to low priced motels. In top season cheap hotels are too expensive. This valley is a famous summer holidays spot for Pakistanis as well as for the foreigners. Kaghan Valley is just like a heaven for those who love hiking, trekking, boating and fishing. The valley has one of the beautiful places in Pakistan.

Weather (climate)

Weather of the valley is change throughout the year. From October to April winter season on top where temperature can down nearly -10 °C to -15 °C and tourists can see the snow everywhere. In the month of May and June snow also available some specific places but the weather is still very cold. In these months greenery is on top then all other months. From July to October, temperature raised nearly 25°C to 30°C. Best season in Kaghan Valley is mid of July to end of September for the tourists.

Tourists Point

There are many lovely spots in the Kaghan valley. When tourists start their journey from Mansehra, after one hour driving, a popular city comes and the city name is Balakot City. Balakot City is the main hub or gateway of Kaghan Valley. Tourists can easily find needful stuffs from this city. The naran road is suddenly very high after crossing the main bridge of Balakot City (over the kunhar river). Almost after 30km from Balakot an amazing point comes which name is Kewai.

Kewai

Kewai is a place where water flows from up to down in few steps and tourists sit on the water for enjoying their food.

Shogran (Siri-Paye Meadows)

A road turn to right from kewai which leads to famous and beautiful hotels town Shogran as well Siri-Paye meadows.

Paras

Paras is a small beautiful town in the mid way of Mansehra to Naran.

Sharan

A road turns to left side from Paras which is going to beautiful secluded place "Sharan". According to locals Sharan is the best and lonely place for honey moon couples.

Mahandri

After few kilometers from Paras another amazing area comes which name is Mahandri. This small and beautiful area located along with the Kunhar River on the Kaghan Road.

Kaghan Town

Then comes first big city, Kaghan City approximate after 70 kilometers from Balakot City. Lots of residence hotels are here for the tourists in different category.

Naran City

After 24 kilometers from kaghan town, the most popular city of the valley comes, Naran City. Naran City is the main and biggest city of Kaghan Valley. As compared to other cities Naran City has maximum restaurant and hotels for the tourists. This is also called the hub of Naran Kaghan Valley. Saiful Muluk Lake also located near Naran city.

Battakundi, Jalkhad and Basel

After short drive from Naran City, some small famous places come where tourists can refill their vehicle and also can buy something to eat. Battakundi, Jalkhad and Basel are one of these famous places.

Lulusar Lake

Going to Babusartop from Naran, after 50km drive a strange and big lake comes, this lake is Lulusar Lake. This is strange lake because nobody can see the complete lake from any corner of the lake due to its shape.

Satsarmala Lakes

An area is famous near the Lulusar Lake and people known as SatsarMala. The specialty of Satsarmala is amazing small seven lakes in a small area.

Babusar Top or Babusar Pass

Kaghan Road starts from Mansehra City and ends it Babusar Pass. Babusar Pass or Babusar Top is a amazing view point and also highest tourists point in the valley. Babusar Pass is a end point of Kaghan valley from northern side.

Lake of kaghan Valley

A lot of Amazing and beautiful lakes in Kaghan Valley which have no words to describe for these Beautify. Saiful Muluk Lake, Dudipatsar Lake, Saral Lake, Lulusar Lake, Ratti Glai Lake and many other famous lakes located in the valley. Saiful Muluk Lake is the most popular lake in the valley and this also most tourists crowded lake.

Kunhar River is one of the most popular river in Pakistan because of its beauty and location. The Kunhar River flows the valley along with the kaghan Road. The combination of the river and the valley create a outstanding view for the tourists and it is also one of the beautiful place in Pakistan.

Kaghan Valley is a Paradise for those who loves fishing. Fishing is one of other big source of income for locals. Large number of fishing forms in the valley where Trout and other types of fishes were bread and fishes generation increased every day.

Transport

Entire Naran Kaghan Valley is connected with Kaghan Road from Mansehra to Babusar Top. Private and local transport available daily in tourists season. Kaghan Road is blocked in winter season (every year) due to heavy snow falling. Kaghan Road is good but not too wide on some places.
