Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa located in northwest area of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. In Urdu " National Language of Pakistan" Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is called "Sarhad" which is means "frontier". The old name of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is "NWFP - Northwest Frontier Province". According to statics in 2015, 28 million people live in this province, which is the 12% of total population of Pakistan. 74,521 sq-km area with Latitude and longitude 34.0000° N, 71.3200° E. Peshawar is the largest and the capital city of this province. International border of Afghanistan (Neighbor country of Pakistan from this province side) meet with this province. Hazara region considered as the gateway of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Famous Rivers & Mountains Range
Indus river, Kunhar river, Zhob river, Swat river, gomal river, Kurram river and many others are the famous river of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Swat River is a very historic river. The old name of this swat river is "Suvastu River" according to some histories. The army of the exceptional Alexander crossed this river earlier than shifting closer to the southern regions which might be now called Odegram and Barikoot. The swat river begins from the Hindu Kush Mountains range and flows through from the Swat District and Kalam Valley. This river also provide a big fishing industry for the local people. There are different kind of forest in this areas which increased the beauty of the province and also attract the tourists.
The northern areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are in general mountainous area. The mountain ranges areas comprise, the Hindu Kush Mountains from the north in Gilgit-baltistan, Trich Mir peak located in Chitral District and the highest peak of hindu kush ranges at height of 7690 meters. Other famous mountain ranges like Himalaya Mountains and Kohistan Ranges from dir and swat.
Lakes & National Park
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has one of the most amazing and beautiful lakes of the world. Saiful Muluk lake, Duditpatsar lake, Ansoo lake, Mahondand lake, Siri lake and many others. Chitral Gol National Park, Ayubia National Park, Lulusar-Dudipatsar National Park are the famous National park in this province.
Festivals
There are many different types of festivals celebrated every year in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Khattak Dance performed by Khattak tribe, in particular in Pakistan but additionally in some eastern parts of Afghanistan. The Kalash Festival famous as Chilam Joshi festival held every year in Kalash Velley in the starting of summer season. Girls and boys are dancing in special local dresses and thousand of tourist to see this festivals from all over the Pakistan.
